Student Registration

First, you can contact us using the online registration form .

Once your child's class is finalized, please fill out the CLSA Student Registration Form (Word or PDF document) sent to you by the school via email, obtain it from your child's local school for signature and stamp, and then submit the form to the teacher in their class or send it to the school's email address admin@canberrachineseschool.net

Parents who are unable to register online can register at the school on the first day of school.

New students are welcome to try a free class once (the free trial class is only valid if you do not continue your studies).

Tuition fees

Chinese language tuition is AUD 110 per semester, and extracurricular classes are AUD 15 per lesson. Ma Liping Chinese textbooks are AUD 101 per set. All school fees are paid electronically via bank transfer, with tuition paid every two semesters. Tuition or textbook invoices will be emailed to parents (please check your spam/junk mail folder). Upon receiving the invoice, parents should note the invoice number and make the payment.

Each extracurricular class costs $15; art classes are available at all three campuses, and children’s Chinese folk dance classes are also available at Belconnen and Gungahlin Campues (children must join the Huaxia Dance Troupe).

$110 per term for Chinese class, $15 per class for other extracurricular/interest classes such as Art, Chinese Folk Dancing and Programming classes etc; $101 for Ma LiPing textbook per set.

Two terms (one semester) school fee is required by online transfer before the due date on the invoice. Invoice will be sent to one of the parents' email addresses in the 3rd or 4th week of the term 1 or term 3. Please transfer the school fee online quoting the invoice number before the due date.

Important notes regarding refunds for Chinese language and extracurricular classes:

  • Students who miss three or fewer classes in a semester must pay the full fee.

  • For returning students who have missed three or more consecutive classes (parents need to notify the students of the absence at least two weeks in advance) and new students who join at the beginning of the semester, tuition fees can be charged based on the actual number of classes attended. For example, the tuition fee for Chinese is AUD 110 per semester, with nine classes per semester. New students who attend five classes per semester will only be charged AUD 61 (AUD 110 / 9 classes * 5 classes).

Refund Policy for both Chinese and Extracurricular/Interest Classes
  • Returning Students (Standard): Full tuition is required for students with 3 or fewer absences per term.

  • Returning Students (Extended Absence): If a student has more than 3 continuous absences and parents have provided at least two weeks' notice, tuition will be adjusted to reflect the actual number of classes attended.

  • New Mid-term Students: Tuition is calculated based on the actual number of classes attended from the start date.

"The Ship of China" by Principal Changxin Cong:
Five thousand years of Chinese culture converge into one river.
Canberra Chinese School is the ship that sets sail.
Hardworking teachers are like the water that carries a boat.
Unwavering parents are like the sails that are raised high.
The hardworking children are like the oarsmen.
And we are the steadfast navigators.
